A ROSE-TINTED REVERIE ON SRI LANKA’S SOUTHERN COAST
A ROSE-TINTED REVERIE ON SRI LANKA’S SOUTHERN COAST
What was once a derelict shell has been transformed by photographer-turned-hotelier Myles Pritchard into a living, breathing space full of heart, curves, and colour.
The dance between aesthetic precision and loose elegance only starts defining The Find. From every angle, you are surrounded by warm colours, ocean views, and details that could have only been imagined by a host who cares. The pool, framed by a striking geometric pink staircase, sits just above the reef. A longboard leans against a terracotta wall and guests drift between swims, siestas, and spicy margaritas. It is an experiment in beauty, balance, and ocean living.
There’s no lobby script, no pretense. Just a genuine welcome from a team that remembers your name and favourite snack (and wine). It feels like being welcomed into a sanctuary, a secret you almost don’t want to share. Be careful, if you start your trip there, odds are you will not visit the rest of Sri Lanka.

Rooms
Each of the nine rooms at The Find feels like its own story: distinct, intentional, and full of soul. Designed individually by Myles, all hum with the same warmth and joy. Canary-yellow doorframes, curving pink walls, hand-built wooden furniture, ever-changing floral displays. It’s something far more personal than traditional luxury. An anti-luxury luxury.
All rooms open onto private balconies that overlook the reef’s shades of turquoise. Leave the windows open and let the sea breeze drift in while the waves play your soundtrack. Inside, locally woven linens, and soft, natural light add to that soothing rhythm. The colours and mood of the space evolve with the sun. Organic and alive.
Comfort isn’t sacrificed for style. Each room includes an extra-large bed, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and ample space to move around and hide your suitcases. Bathrooms are sculptural and serene; curved terracotta walls and soft lighting lend them a quiet, tactile elegance.
Each room reflects a slightly different mood, but what unites them all is a sense of ease, curation, and whimsical elegance. If you’re after something sensory, human, and quietly indulgent, The Find delivers in full colour.

Food & Drinks
All-day breakfast at The Find is a vibrant affair. Settle into a pergola-shaded table facing the surf, sipping strong coffee or fresh watermelon juice as waves roll in just metres away. There’s no rush, no schedule.
The menu is short, grounding and quietly refined. Think jewel-toned fruit platters, banana and coconut pancakes drizzled with local syrup, and wild mushrooms on 36-hour fermented sourdough with buffalo feta and a perfectly runny egg. The curd and granola is light and tangy; the focaccia with house-made cheese, tomatoes, and lime is unexpectedly addictive.
And while the restaurant isn’t officially open yet, the bar already hums with life. Return from the beach to find chilled coconuts, ginger-lime soda, and a jalapeño margarita that gives the right kick while you watch sunset. Skip the cocktail list—just ask, and something tailored will appear.
There’s generosity in how food and drink are offered here. No pomp, no over-service. Everything made with intention, and just the right touch of indulgence.

Wellness
At The Find, wellness happens naturally. There’s no pressure to “achieve” anything here. Only space to unwind, reconnect, and move at your own pace. Early mornings can start with yoga on the beachfront terrace; but you can also sleep a bit longer and cool off in the pool or retreat to a shaded corner with a book and an ice-cold coconut. The backdrop is always the same: endless horizon, birdsong, the hush of waves.
There’s no formal spa on-site, but yoga, ice baths, and Ayurvedic rituals are just a tuk-tuk away and easily arranged by Myles and his team. Like the hotel itself, wellness here is intentionally low-key, but deeply felt.

The People Behind
The Find is the vision (and quite literally the handiwork) of Myles Pritchard, a fashion and travel photographer. Over 18 months, he transformed a crumbling seaside villa into a dreamworld—enduring cyclones, rubble, and Sri Lankan bureaucracy along the way.
It’s precisely that grit, and his eye for beauty, that sets The Find apart. His background behind the lens is visible in every detail: textured surfaces, saturated hues, and moments of unexpected perspective. But beyond the visual poetry lies a grounded, community-first ethos. He works side-by-side with Sri Lankan artisans, sources materials from nearby villages, and has woven the renovation into the cultural fabric of Ahangama.
His approach to hospitality is just as personal. Guests aren’t just accommodated; they're welcomed, remembered, and genuinely looked after. The result is a space where the world slows down, and feels a little more magical. Like the name suggests, The Find isn’t just a destination. It’s a discovery, just as the name suggests.
