Five configurations across the residences, from the two-bedroom Grand Residence (1,000 sq ft, sleeps four) up to the four-bedroom Penthouse Grand Residence (2,000 sq ft, sleeps eight, with its own private bar).
As you step inside, the aesthetic is tropical modernism. Sharp, yet warm and welcoming. White walls, soft curves, natural wood, artisan furniture, and floor-to-ceiling windows that pull the jungle light in. Kitchens come with modern appliances and proper cookware. Bedrooms have plush king or queen beds, a vintage surfboard on the wall and a Marshall speaker, a nod to the founder’s first love of music.
Upstairs residences open onto balconies hung with basket chairs, looking straight into the canopy. The ground-floor Tropical Garden residences have their own private gardens with barrel sauna and cold plunge instead.
Every residence has air conditioning, generous closet space, a washer-dryer, business-grade internet and refillable Le Labo toiletries.

Breakfast is included and served on the rooftop, overlooking the jungle. Although guests who prefer privacy can have it brought to their residence instead.
Breakfast runs à la carte. Expect delicious avocado toast, breakfast burritos, or açaí bowls. An unusual amount of care goes into sourcing, with Silvestre working with around 25 local suppliers. That includes honey from a former Nosara firefighter who began keeping the bee colonies he was once called out to remove.
Throughout the day, the rooftop bar serves proper coffee, smoothies, light refreshments and cocktails. For dinner, guests can walk to Guiones' restaurants, cook in their own kitchen, or have Silvestre send a private chef to the residence.

Surfing
A short sandy path runs from Silvestre's gate through the jungle to Playa Guiones, one of the best and most consistent surf beaches in Costa Rica. Three miles of sand, peaks all the way along, wide enough to spread the crowds. It works at every stage of the tide: hollow and heavy at low, fat and cruisy at high; nearly every day of the year. It is forgiving enough for beginners, ideal for intermediates and longboarders, and has enough power on bigger days to keep advanced surfers interested.
Playa Pelada just north is a rock reef that comes alive at high tide. Ostional, further north, is a black-sand bay catching more swell, faster and hollower. Garza to the south has a right-hand peeling point made for longboards.
Every guest gets unlimited use of a custom Jim Banks performance board. Private 90-minute sessions are run by ISA-certified coaches for all levels and can include video analysis. For intermediates and above, Silvestre can also organise boat trips to point breaks and emptier beach breaks beyond Guiones. Children have their own lessons and appropriately sized boards.
Water is warm all year long. December to April is the dry season: smaller swell, cleaner offshore conditions, the friendliest window for anyone still learning. May to November brings bigger, more frequent swell, some rain, fewer people.

They planned to stay a week; two and a half months later, neither wanted to leave. The idea for Silvestre began to take shape. Then came a long search for the right site: steps from the ocean, but still within walking distance of Guiones village.
Building at the edge of the reserve came with a responsibility they took seriously. They consulted local environmental organisations, preserved existing trees, planted native species, installed a wastewater-treatment system, and worked with biologists to support a wildlife corridor. Most of the staff are Costa Rican, many from the local community. Silvestre opened in 2024, bringing together their shared passion for surf, design, and sustainability in a hotel designed as much for families as for surfers. The ultimate base for experiencing Nosara at its best.
