The design is wonderfully playful: steep thatched roofs, soft curves, woven lounging pods, oversized swinging beds, a pagoda in the mangroves and another on stilts out in the bay. The resort has on a "no wallet" philosophy: meals, drinks, spa treatments, surf sessions, boat trips and airport transfers are all included in the rate.
Nay Palad suits a holiday where the waves matter, but so do the room, the food and the company. Its small scale suits a honeymoon as well as a family celebration or a longer stay with friends. The resort holds a Michelin Key, and was named best hotel in the Philippines by Travel+Leisure in 2026.

The Garden View (105 sq m) and Ocean View (100 sq m) villas each have a master bedroom and a second, king-bedded room upstairs. The Ocean View adds a deck overlooking the Pacific. The Coral Villa (135 sq m) has two bedrooms, children’s beds on a mezzanine and a private pool. The Perlah Villa (270 sq m) has four bedrooms, a private pool, as well as its own stretch of beach and a treehouse platform.
All villas have Wi-Fi, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and mosquito nets.

There is no fixed menu. Chef Thorsten Killian cooks around what is growing on the property and what comes in from the sea. Most herbs and vegetables are picked from the resort's organic farm, while the morning catch is selected directly from local fishermen on the beach (guests can even tag along).
Lunch can be served family-style or packed for a picnic on the beach. Dinner runs to three or four courses, pairing local ingredients with refined techniques and an eclectic mix of East and West. There are two restaurants, one on the beach, and another under a thatched dome with 360-degree views. But you can also pick the setting: a table on the sand, a treehouse, one of the pavilions, or the pagoda in the mangroves.

The inside of Jacking Horse is a crumbly right for beginners. Daku Island, a boat ride offshore, has a soft right with long, mellow rides. Closer to Nay Palad, the boats can also reach quieter reefs: longboard peelers through to punchier walls.
Surf at Nay Palad is included and run with Tropicsurf, a luxury surf guiding company. A guide assesses each guest's level, chooses the break and takes them there on one of the resort's own boats. Complete beginners and advanced surfers are both catered for.
The main season runs from roughly August to November, when Pacific swells arrive with offshore winds from the south-west. From December to March the north-east monsoon brings bigger swell but onshore wind, so sheltered spots work best. April to July is small and often flat. The water stays between 27°C and 29°C all year: boardshorts and a rash vest are enough.

The People Behind
Bobby Dekeyser has had several lives: goalkeeper for Bayern Munich, founder of the outdoor furniture brand Dedon; author of a memoir called Unverkäuflich (Not For Sale). He first came to Siargao in the mid-1990s, before opening what was then Dedon Island in 2012.
When Typhoon Odette devastated Siargao in December 2021, Dekeyser chose to rebuild. He worked alongside his daughter Carolin, French architect Daniel Pouzet who had designed the original resort, and Filipino craftsmen. It reopened in June 2023 as Nay Palad: nay from nanay, mother, and palad, palm.
Several of the team have been here for more than a decade, through both versions of the resort.
